MY SINCERE APOLOGIES

I have just been made aware that people are actually reading this and to you, dedicated readers, I sincerely apologize for not updating.... I could go through all the reasons that I've been MIA, but instead of making excuses, I'll just apologize.....

Sooo... if you're still reading... post a comment, that way I know you're there, 'cause right now, the only thing I see is a guy offering me free porn.

Of course, I could post for my own amusement, but it's much nicer to have an audience.... isn't it always.... but of course, as always, that's just one girl's opinion.

Anywho, I'm at work right now, so I can't go in to details about all the time I've lost watching tv... I'll drop you a post either later today or tomorrow.

with much love and appreciation

NICK LACHEY WANTS HIS JEWLERY BACK

yep.. Nick is asking for cash and gifts from that "girl goes Hollywood" Jessica Simpson. I say good for him. She never would have rocketed to stardom if she hadn't done "Newlyweds" with him. She still would be #3 to Britney and Christina.

Now she just shops and gets photographed by the paparazzi. You have Nick to thank for that you little vixen, you. (p.s. your religion told you to wait to have sex before marriage.... what does it say about divorce?)

So give him some money.... lord knows he won't be spending it like it's going out of style... I mean, he probably moved all his own stuff out of your house the same way he moved it all in.

OK, so Drew MAY, have helped, but he's been busy dancin' his pants off...... oh yeah, and way to go Nick for supporting your bro. You rule.

Look me up,
rebecca

LOST... IS HE?

Is he an other or not?

Please discuss.

LOCAL BOY IS WICKED PISSAH

In case you haven't heard the news yet..... Seth Wescott won the very first Snowboard Cross gold medal in Olympic history! Yeah Seth! As a fellow Sugarloafer... just wanted to extend my sincere congratulations... not like you'll ever read this, but none-the-less, we're all super proud of you.

Thank g-d, you aren't Lindsey Jacobellis 'cause then we'd have to turn our backs on you and never go to the Rack again for being so stupid.

Way to make us all proud......

CRIMINAL TWINS

HAH! Those stupid twins I hate so much from American Idol got booted for all kinds of criminal behavior. I love it. I hope they go to jail and someone makes them their girlfriend.

And two of my longshots have made it through to the next round....

good times.

GRAMMY'S

I know, I know... old news..... and since I forgot to really write about it, I'm not gonna rehash everything now.... just wanted to point out that Randy Jackson of American Idol fame, and Chicago of course, was playing with the band for the "Sly and the Famile Stone" tribute...

anybody catch that?

sweet.

SAD MONKEY

So, regular readers know that I have a really weird work schedule.... work at night, sleep during the day. So most people know not to call me after 4:00..... especially my co-workers. So imagine my suprise when I got a call from Kara who works these loopy hours too in the late afternoon.

But, I understand why she broke from protocol..... "Love Monkey" has been cancelled and she wanted to let me know.

What the??! It's the smartest, most well written, interesting new show on TV and they cancelled it???! I just can't take it.

You know what.... I'm going to www.cbs.com to lodge a complaint right now. Join me if you will....

I need a blankie,

TRICKS FOR THE SEASON

Ok, so finally there's some snow in the forecast, maybe, if the wind is just right and all that jazz... but it's possible there'll be a big storm this weekend (and my first solo "storm center" ).

Wow. Go figure. Snow in Maine in February.

Anyway, I've set forth a goal for myself on my snowboard..... 2 very simple tricks, lookin' rad by the end of the season.

1. The Method.... basically, it's going over a jump, grabbing the board above the front foot and kicking the board out so anyone facing the jump would see the whole bottom sheet.

2. Indy Front Side Grab..... hitting the jump and grabbing the board between the feet with the right hand.

Like I said, pretty standard, pretty easy.... but they look good and it should be attainable. Who knows, maybe I'll pull it off with a little panache and then I'll be spinning too... we'll see...

I'll keep you posted...

SKATING WITH CELEBRITIES

ok, so I've already revealed that I'm a total sap... but don't you just love Bruce Jenner and Tai Bablonia (sp?)???!

I mean, he's just so dorky, but SOOOOO driven. That's a no-joke Olympic athlete for ya. And she's just so beautiful, still... and having a great time doing this show. I just love them.

I know they aren't gonna take the whole thing, and now with those annoying losers Kerrigan and Coulier gone, they're probably next on the chopping block. It's so sad. They should get their own show... I'd watch it. And so would my mom.

Why didn't anyone come up with this sooner? Oh wait, they did. Stars on Ice... heh..heh...

So, now the only thing a girl can hope for is that Fox picks up a version of this... Bad Guys on Ice... featuring Tonya Harding and 50 cent..... and Oksana Bayu and Collin Farrell....

ahhh... good times.

RWRW BLAH BLAH BLAH

I hate to say it, as I've been an ardent follower since day one, but the Gauntlet is boring. There it's out in the universe. I've put it out there.

I'm sad about it... really. But, well, it's boring. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe they're getting stale, but whatever it is... it's boring.

I'm gonna try and stick it out for this season... at least we get to see hottie Alton all the time since he's team captain.

But, big suprise... Beth's only friend and the oldest guy within 100 feet of this show got booted this week. See ya' Syrus. You're a good guy, but later.

Please let there be a super scary challenge or some serious drama...

LOVING THE MONKEY

BEST NEW SHOW.... seriously.

I love Love Monkey and you should too.

Great writing. Great stories. Great cameos. And of course, what the whole show hinges on, great music.

I'm thrilled that it's an hour long. I just can't get enough of the show. . In fact, I am gonna go check out the website and get some info on the music as soon as I'm done here. You should too.

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/love_monkey/

By the way, this week's episode featured "Arlene's Grocery" a venue in New York where my friends play all the time.... you should check them out too...

I really hope that CBS advertises this show a TON during Survivor.... this show NEEDS to be put out there...

SUCH A SAP

OK, here it is... an out and out confession. I get teary eyed when I watch American Idol. Seriously... not all the time, but some contestants really tug at my heart strings.

This season, there are three of them... so far.

1. The Cryin' Cowboy.... he's just so sweet and so sincere.... I know that he won't go very far. I almost feel like he got to Hollywood by virtue of the fact that he's never been on a plane and Paula just wanted him to experience some new stuff.... yet, I still can't help rooting for him.

2. The Little Boy.... there's this really young kid who sang Josh Groban's "You Raise me Up" in the auditions... I got teary eyed as soon as he began to warble... he's just so young and so cute and so talented. Again, I'm not sure he'll go very far... but he has a better shot than the Cowboy and again, I'm rootin' for him.

3. The Adoptive Father.... he's that kinda' rocker guy with soul and during his audition, his wife told us how he deserved to go to Hollywood 'cause this is his dream and he's given up a lot to be a great father to her 2 kids. He's got talent and I love the back story. It made me so happy when he kicked ass in the first episode of Hollywood week. He has the best shot out of my sob stories, but I certainly don't think he'll run away with the title....

Of course, there's always people to dislike.... right now, for me, it's the twins.

Seriously, you guys aren't even gonna make it past Hollywood and you're talking all kinds of smack about how the people put through to the next round are so terrible. Screw you and your superiority.... I can't wait for you to get cut so we don't have to listen to your stupid tangents any more.

with glistening eyes,
-rebecca

CODE BLACK!

Ok, anyone who watches Grey's Anatomy or watched the Superbowl, knows that I'm referring to this past week's episode.... awesome as ever.

BUT, Code Black in my world is when the Superbowl runs late and my DVR doesn't record an entire show... yep. I missed the ending. I'm guessing things worked out, but it would've been nice to see how it all wrapped up.

Wicked bummer.

BUMMER

So, I DVR'd 'Survivor' last night and watched it while I got ready for work at 2:00am..... Hopefully it'll be a good season.... it didn't really start off with any big bangs.... 4 tribes, separated by age and gender.... and oooooh...... exile island. hmmmm...

But, I am totally bummed about Lumberjack Tina being booted so quickly. She coulda' been good fun. That stupid big boobed chick shoulda' gone. Scared of leaves? What? And those boobs of hers are really gonna get in the way in challenges.... note to you lady, I hope you brought a sports bra and aren't gonna be runnin' around in your bathing suit all season.

CELEBRITY GOSSIP

Britney's gonna be on "Will and Grace" later this season.

Nick Lachey has a new girlfriend.... a former Miss Kentucky..... or something like that... good for him. He was way too good for that Jessica.

Rumor has it that Zach Braff and Mandy Moore are getting married. I don't think he realizes he hasn't met me.

Everyone talks about the Olsen twins, but poor, sweet little Stephanie Tanner was hooked on Meth. That's awesome. Now when are we gonna see Mary-Kate in Playboy? You know, she's the one that'll do it.... body issues and all... the other one has too much money and sanity to bother.

John Stewart's movie "Wordplay" was sold at Sundance. Can't wait to see it. Something about the New York Times' crossword puzzles and the wordsmiths who create it. Move over Soduku, crosswords are in again.

Justin Timberlake's movie that debuted at Sundance is called Alpha Dog.... ahhh.... Justin Timberlake.

and finally, there's a picture floating around of Lindsay Lohan looking smokin' in a black dress with black hair... totally dig it, you dirty girl. While, I'm still partial to your red hair, you're lookin' hot these days.

OH NO ANOTHER ONE

Survivor starts tonight... and we've got a Mainer castaway.....

I am definitely gonna have to drop a show to fit this one in...hmmmm..... decisions, decisions.

addicted,
rebecca

BEST NEWS EVER

I just switched shifts with a co-worker to help her get to a wedding and while it helps her out, it totally hooks me up! I'm gonna have a WHOLE WEEKEND off , yeah, I said it, A WEEKEND plus my regular days off in mid-March. Yeah, the week before will be a killer week, but how freakin' sweet is that. oh my g-d. I'll have like a week's vacation without taking vacation time. Ahhh... life is so good.

missing the weekends,
rebecca

THE ARISTOCRATS

the movie....

totally gross, totall repulsive, but awesomely funny.

Check out the mime... he's the nastiest 'cause he's so graphic, but probably the best.

BEST BLEU CHEESE

Tufulio's in Carabassett Valley has the best bleu cheese in the entire world. Period. End of story. People should come to Maine just for that. I'm not even kidding.

oh, and while I'm plugging..... D'Ellie's at Sugarloaf makes a mean sandwich...

shared opinion, I swear,
Rebecca

NO PAIN NO GAIN

ahh... I am remarkably sore today.

We finally got some snow up at the mountain and I rode like a champ. Yeah, I said it. I rode like a champ. Finally got on some of the more difficult trails that I haven't hit yet this season with all the ice and rain we've been having and I shredded 'em. It was stellar. EVERYONE was loving the mountain. And as a bonus, the snow came during the week so the place was empty.... locals got all the freshies.

Anyway, in addition to my normal soreness...

I was feeling so good that I decided to take it up a notch and hit the big park..... I did all right on most of the jumps.... landed some, cased some, fell some... but I totally slid the box at the end of the park. Unfortunately I was feeling so good that I took a jump I thought I could handle (and someone told me I could) and must have kneed myself in the face or something, 'cause I bit mouth sides of my tongue and the right side of my jaw is all locked up. Seriously, it hurts to smile and chew and when I close my mouth (insert joke here) my teeth don't line up properly....

It is however getting a little better... and like the title, no pain no gain.

I freakin' threw air in the big park.

That's hot.

snow bunny-ing,
rebecca

SKATING WITH BRUISES

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! Skating with Celebrities.... ahhhhhhhh

Oh my g-d, I love this show.... especially since there have been falls and injuries during the actual performances. Not that I'm a violent person, but g-d, the original Buffy with a gash on her chin.... AND she falls on her toe pick. (heh..heh... good movie TOE PICK!... what the hell was that called? the Cutting Edge?... hmmm.... but I digress)

Anyway, I'm psyched that they're still in the competition 'cause even though it was far from flawless, they definitely look like the real deal. They are not messing around.

But, I really think they're all awesome (except Deborah Gibson-yes, she likes Deborah now). I'm glad she's gone. And even though she made a nice speech, she sucked. Oh yeah, and it was great when Buffy thought she was going home. hahahaha I love it.

But good for all the rest of 'em... one of the most entertaining shows on TV.... I gotta call my mom and make sure she's watching.....

breaking out my ice skates,
rebecca

DAMN BILLS

yeah, so like I've mentioned before, I work ridiculously, crazy, inhuman hours and sometimes I "forget" to pay bills. So, I woke up this morning (at 1:30) to get to work and tried to squeeze in "American Idol" before I was off to work on real news... and g-d damn it. My cable has been shut off. That's like taking a heroin addict's needle away.

I don't know when it was shut off.... it was on last night and I know that a whole bunch of my shows from the beginning of the week are DVR'd, but I'm PRAYING that I got Lost before it went down.

Don't worry folks. I'll get it all up and running as soon as it's normal business hours (yes, I called at 2:00am to fix it, but no one was there to help me) and I'll be back on top of it all.

suffering from detox tremors,

CAT FIGHT

I have a new roomate and she's awesome. Both me and my other roomate are thrilled to have her.

So, Steph moved in about a month ago, maybe longer and she has a cat named Abby.

I have a cat named Bingo.

I thought it would take a little time for the 2 of them to get along, but I don't think it's ever gonna happen. Bingo is a little shy to begin with and now she won't come out of my room at all. Little Abby runs all over the house, sleeps in Bingo's hut near the heater in the living room and on the couch in the sun. But poor Bingo won't leave my room.

Maybe it's because I had to tweeze one of Abby's claws out of her nose not too long ago.

hmm.... any suggestions?

yes, I'm a cat lady,
Rebecca

GETTIN' LOST

Like most of the world, I am totally and completely addicted to Lost. It's really gotten to the point that I want to throw my tv out the window (heaven forbid!) when they go on their 8 week hiatus-es.....

But thankfully, they're back and the last few weeks have been pretty groovy. We finally got some Islander-Airplane Crash Victim interaction. Kick ass.

Wednsday's episode was a little too drama filled for me.... BUT what the hell is going on with the Hobbit? Does he have the sickness? Is Locke after the baby??? What's going on?

I just might have to go and read some spoilers or group discussions somewhere.... I just can't let it go.

PUT DOWN THE BABY!

RUNDOWN

ok, quick rundown of recent celebrity gossip.

Britney dumps Kevin.

Britney takes Kevin back.

Angelina's preggers and that deuchbag Brad didn't even call Jennifer to let her know before the rest of the world did.

Richard Hatch has been found guilty of tax evasion. You have the most famous million dollars in the world. PAY YOUR G-D DAMN TAXES. moron.

Chris Penn has died under circumstances that are being investigated by LAPD. He was great... moment of silence please or go watch Resorvoir Dogs, your choice.

Paris opened a night club in Vegas.

Colin Farrel has a sex tape out online.

Drew Barrymore made a great guest cameo on SNL.

and, Adrian Curry of America's Next Top Model, Surreal Life, and My Fair Brady fame is on the cover of this week's Playboy.

glad I could share,
rebecca

AMERICAN IDOL

yep.. still kickin' ass since we're still in the horribly untalented portion of the contest. And of course, it's nice when they pop in with a real singer every now and again. I also think that this year, they are sending people through to Hollywood who are just ok, but have hard-luck stories and have never been on a plane.

That's very nice of you Simon.

stay tuned... they say it's the best season yet and would they lie to us?

rebecca

LOVE MONKEY

As a tv watcher, this means a lot.... I absolutely, positively love this show. Sure there are the common annoying sitcom things, but wow. This show stands out. Great dialog and great music. And it's awesome to see Jason Priestly back on tv. Yeah, I said it. What are you gonna do about it?

Whatever it is, check out this show for yourself...... it's worth 30 minutes of your life.

-rebecca

SKATING WITH CELEBRITIES

yes. yes. yes. I freakin' love it.

OK, so as a kid I used to watch skating with my mom ALL the time. Pairs, singles, men, women, whatever. It was awesome. The things they can do on that ice is amazing. We would watch all the competitions, but our favorites were the showcases where they could wear any kind of costumes, dance to any kinds of music, and do whatever technical skills they wanted. It was great to watch, like Broadway on ice.

Anywho, this new show is killer. It's soooo much fun and some of the celebrities are actually pretty good.

I'll definitely say it'll be harder for the male celebrities to shine in this since they can't really lead and they can't really do lifts. It's a lot easier to make the women look good when you can just toss 'em around.

I love that Dave Coulier's (the subject of Alanis Morisette's angry anthem) hocky abilites are actually a detriment to this competition.

I love that Dorothy Hamil is as gorgeous as ever.

I love that 2 former olympians are totally going for it... that would be Bruce Jenner and Tai (sp?) Babalonia....

I love that Willis fell on his ass, but I hope it doesn't make him start doing drugs again.

And, I especially love that Nancy Kerrigan is still a bitch. It would be awesome if one of the celebrities took a pipe to her knee.

awwwwww... I love this stuff.

and yes, I have been to Disney on Ice.... I saw Beauty and the Beast and the best show of all time, EWOKS ON ICE. yeahhhhhh....

dreaming of triple axels,
rebecca

SLIDING BOXES

YES! It was a pretty kick ass week on the mountain. I'm not sure who reads this, but the poor old Maine mountains have taken a beating with warm temps and rain. Yes, rain. They even closed Sugarloaf the other day for THUNDER STORMS. what the??! It's freakin' January.

But, nonetheless, Tuesday and Wednsday the conditions were great, considering, and YES! I slid the box and nailed 2 jumps. It's a whole new level of riding for me and I wanted to share.

Oh, yeah, don't forget, both the X-Games and the winter Olympics are coming up. Don't miss a heart stopping moment.

let it snow,
Rebecca
